Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, frozen
- 1 large handful of leafy greens or 1 tsp green powder
- 200ml plant-based milk of choice
- 1 tbsp nut or seed butter
- 1 tsp ground flaxseed
- A small piece of fresh ginger (optional)
- Ice, to serve
Method
Gather everything within reach — this comes together in minutes, so it helps to be ready.
Add the liquids to your blender first, then the softer ingredients, and finally anything frozen or fibrous on top.
Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until completely smooth, pausing to scrape down the sides if needed.
Taste and adjust — a little more milk to loosen, a squeeze of citrus to brighten, or a pitted date for natural sweetness.
Pour into your favourite glass or bowl, add any toppings, and enjoy straight away while fresh.
Chef’s tip
Prep double and keep half in the fridge — most of these come together even faster the second time, and a little planning makes eating well the easy choice on a busy day.
