Description
Frankincense has a rich, woody, earthy aroma with a deeply grounding nuance.
Frankincense Essential Oil 15ml is part of our Oils & Tinctures range — thoughtfully formulated to support your everyday wellbeing. Frankincense has a rich, woody, earthy aroma with a deeply grounding nuance. It has been used for centuries for meditation and spiritual practices and is prized for its many medicinal and spiritual applications. It is also one of the few anti-tumoral therapeutic essential oils and is a useful expectorant, intended to aid bronchial congestive problems. In skincare formulations, Frankincense is said to help refresh dull and aging complexions. Its properties include analgesic, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic, astringent, carminative, digestive, diuretic, expectorant, sedative, tonic, and vulnerary. Frankincense is a calming oil which may be used to relax those with anxious dispositions. The oil is also renowned for rejuvenating mature skin properties, reputedly smoothing out wrinkles and helping with the appearance of age spots. The oil is slightly astringent, which is also good for balancing oily skin. This astringent nature of frankincense is also good for clearing mucus in the lungs. Frankincense essential oil is taken from the resin of the tree’s bark. To access the resin, incisions are made in the bark and it drips out in ‘tears’. This resin is then distilled to produce the essential oil. Frankincense oil blends well with lavender, sweet orange, geranium, patchouli, bergamot, lemon and myrrh. 100% Pure Frankincense Essential Oil Aromatherapy: Combine 5-7 drops of the oil with water and add to an oil burner. Alternatively, place 5-7 drops in a diffuser. Massage: Dilute 5 drops to 10ml of carrier oil and massage into skin. Bath: Add 6-8 drops to warm bathwater. Skincare: Add a couple of drops to a carrier oil or your chosen lotion. Soap: Suitable for soapmaking. We recommend following a tested recipe. Candles: Suitable for candles. We recommend following a tested recipe. Potpourri: Add a few drops to potpourri creations to enhance scent. Size: 15ml Blends well with Basil, Bay Leaf, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Caraway, Carrot Seed, Cassia, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Cinnamon Leaf, Cistus, Clary Sage, Coriander, Cypress, Elemi, Fragonia, Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Lemon Eucalyptus, Litsea, Mandarin, Myrrh, Myrtle, Neroli, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Spikenard, Sweet Orange, Tangerine, Vetiver, and Ylang Ylang. Cautions: Never use essential oils undiluted or in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take it internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children and pets. If applying an essential oil to the skin, always dilute and perform a small patch test on an insensitive part of the body. This information is for educational purposes only.
